The November-December issue of Southern Cross highlights the generosity of the Church Hill Parish in gifting $1.5m toward the construction of the church building at Marsden Park in Sydney’s North-west growth corridor.
“I’m delighted at the generosity of the Church Hill parish in looking outwards to the needs of other parts of Sydney” Bishop Michael Stead reflected.
The Rev Mark Collins, Rector of Marsden Park, has stressed the difference the funds will make to enabling gospel ministry in the growing parish. He explains ‘it allows us to expand out outreach … it will allow opportunities for further ministry to happen, which we can’t do at the moment because there are really no venues in the Marsden Park area”.
We are delighted and touched by this act of generosity from the oldest parish in the diocese to the newest.
God willing, construction is planned to start in 2023.
